First Overseas Chinese Investment Fund Settled in Tianjin

The first overseas Chinese investment fund of China was set up on April 18. This fund, with scale of RMB5b, was registered in Tianjin new coastal area, primarily investing in developing projects with competitiveness in the new coastal area and Chinese resource projects across the world.

Tianjin new coastal area is a national comprehensive reform experimental area approved by the State Council. It encourages reform experiment in such aspects as industrial investment fund and venture capital investment, to gradually build Tianjin as a center for issuance, administration, trade, information and talent training of Chinese industrial investment fund. Currently, Tianjin has over 30 partnership private equity funds and more than 100 venture capital funds.
